A year-old high school student says she is afraid to return to the classroom where video footage showed a substitute teacher brutally beating her last week, leaving her with severe injuries. I've very sensitive to light, it's hard to think and I have lots of anxiety. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Austin ABC affiliate KVUE , the teenager said she's found it hard to leave her house due to fear of someone recognizing her after video of the attack went viral. One video appears to show Savannah swiping at the teacher first, but the student says she only "shoved her shoulder" in an effort to remove Lankford from her personal space. The video shows Lankford responding by punching the student multiple times. On the video Lankford then drags her from her desk and throws her to the floor, where she stomps on her head. Lankford, who had been working for the Hays Consolidated Independent School District since late August, was fired and charged with aggravated assault. It's unclear if she has retained an attorney.

A MARRIED high school teacher who had sex with a student in a car while his classmates watched has been jailed for more than four years. Kathryn Houghtaling, who was 26 at the time, had sex with two teenagers and plied one with drugs. The special educational teacher was sacked by Rochester High School near Detroit, Michigan, when the allegations came to light in January last year. She was accused of having sexual relations with two boys aged 16 and 17 on several occasions and in various locations including one victim's house. At least one of the encounters in November or December took place in a car, with other teenagers watching, prosecutors said. Houghtaling wept in court yesterday as she admitted her actions "betrayed the duties and responsibilities I had as a teacher". His uncle said the vulnerable teen once came home "high as a kite" after spending time with Houghtaling. In a victim impact statement, he said the teacher had gained the family's trust and they thought she wanted to help the boy. The other victim's mother told the court how Houghtaling has sneaked into her house at night and gave her son alcohol. Houghtaling pleaded no contest to six counts of criminal sexual conduct and a seventh charge of delivering a controlled substance.
Like it was mentioned above, see how she deals some of the issues now and if she can't handle it, it might be better to find someone else. That said, there are also a lot of pricks inside the church, who fully deserve membership. So I knew what I was getting into when I married him though I secretly hoped he would still convert back. And then run from this girl if you don't think there's a chance she'll wake up. If it's the latter then you may need to be more direct and take initiative. He has spent years building his practice and is a busy, highly successful pediatric surgeon who is compassionate and respected by everybody, but I think by nature, it is hard for him to be empathetic or to relate to more personal issues. No matter that he's married - maybe they can lure him away. I'm always torn between wanting to spend time together doing loads of fun things and giving him space to pursue his dream.
